Atlas Air names chief operating officer

Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Inc. of Purchase has promoted John W. Dietrich, 42, to executive vice president and named him chief operating officer. Dietrich has been general counsel and senior vice president of human relations. He receives a base salary of $425,000, pro-rated for the rest of 2006, and a bonus of up to 50 percent of his salary. He joined the company in 1999 as associate general counsel.
