Atlas Air renews $48M contract with USAF

Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Inc., the Purchase-based air cargo shipper, has renewed a lucrative contract with the U.S. Air Force. The $48 million, one-year contract with the Civil Reserve Air Fleet program begins Oct. 1, but there are terms under which Atlas could reap far more. Atlas has received $277 million over nine months ending June 30, 2006 under the current deal.
