RDA names division president

December

The Reader’s Digest Association Inc. of Chappaqua has named a new president for QSP Inc., the publisher’s schools and youth fundraising division. James A. Northrop is the former president and chief executive officer of Princess House, a company that markets giftware and household products at in-home parties in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Northrop is replacing Gary S. Rich, who asked to step down to spend more time with his family, the company said.

After eight years with RDA, Rich will leave the company after spending several months assisting Northrop with the transition. In his role at Princess House, Northrop has experience with direct sales, managing more than 16,000 field representatives. Before that, he was president and CEO of Popular Club Plan, a catalog division of J. Crew selling apparel, housewares and electronics.

For more information about Reader’s Digest’s QSP program, which has helped schools in the United States and Canada raise almost $3 billion, log on to www.qsp.com.
