Reader’s Digest sets date for merger vote

The Reader’s Digest Association Inc. has announced shareholders will vote in February on the publisher’s merger with Ripplewood Holdings LLC, announced last month. Shareholders on record as of Dec. 21 will receive notice of the special meeting and be entitled to vote on the proposal.
The special meeting will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 2 at Reader’s Digest DeWitt Wallace Auditorium on Reader’s Digest Road in Chappaqua. The parties expect the deal to close in February pending the outcome of the shareholder vote and other conditions, including antitrust clearance.
