Buy soda, pay by credit card

MasterCard Worldwide, the Purchase-based credit card company whose stock has soared since it began selling shares to the public this year, said this morning that Cadbury Schweppes America Beverages will equip vending machines in certain U.S. markets with equipment that allows customers to pay for their drink without cash. The company, said the equipment will allow the machines to accept all major credit cards. Cadbury is working with MasterCard and USA Technologies, of Malvern, Pa., to get 1,000 Dr Pepper and Snapple vending machines in Dallas, New York and Chicago to accept credit card payments.
