Michael L. Rosenthal of Hartsdale has established the Rosenthal Memorial Chapel, a private, Jewish-owned funeral home, at 117 Washington Ave. in Pleasantville.
Previously he served in various positions for Houston-based funeral conglomerate Service Corporation International. He was a funeral director at Riverside Memorial Chapel in Manhattan and manager of Hellman Memorial Chapel in Spring Valley, Hellman-Garlick Memorial Chapel in Briarcliff Manor, which he helped establish in 2001, and Garlick Funeral Home in the Bronx, which moved to New Rochelle. He was also assistant manager at Riverside Memorial Chapel in Mount Vernon.
Rosenthal, 34, said he established it this private, independently owned funeral home as “an alternative to the corporate-owned funeral homes that are generally higher-priced and less personal.
To help provide the “personal touch, Rosenthal offers to come to his client’s homes to make arrangements.
“I feel that families are much more comfortable in their own environment, so I’m almost like a doctor who makes house calls, he said. For more information, visit his Web site (www.rosenthalmemorial.com).

Congratulations to Mr. Rosenthal and best of luck on his new venture. I’m sure that people will be dieing to get in!
