Purchase-based MasterCard gets new board members

MasterCard Inc. rounded out its board of directors with the election of Nancy J. Karch, a former senior partner with a global consulting firm, and Tan Teong Hean, a former bank chief executive, the company announced this morning.
The company, based in Purchase, said Karch, 59, who is retired from McKinsey & Co., was elected to a seat as an independent director.
Hean, 63, who was chief executive of Southern Bank Berhad of Malaysia will serve as one of the directors who represent financial institutions that own a class of MasterCard shares.
MasterCard shares closed Tuesday at $106, up 75 cents.
