Brewster-based Touchstone reports results

Touchstone Applied Science Assolciates Inc., a Brewster company that provides tests to schools, school districts and states, announced this morning that revenues increased 135 percent to $8.7 million in the fourth quarter of last year, compared with $3.7 million a year earlier, as a newly acquired operation brought in money. The company acquired Questar Educational Systems last May. For the year, the company had a loss of $1.12 million, or 23 cents a share, on revenues of $23.69 million. That compares with a 2005 profit of $432,529, or 14 cents a share, on revenues of $11.69 million. The company plans to change its corporate name to Questar Assessment Inc.
