BioScrip Inc., a pharmacy benefit management business in Elmsford, reported higher fourth-quarter losses but said a key earnings measure had improved.
The company had a loss in the quarter of $28 million, or 75 cents a share, on revenue of $292.2 million. For the comparable quarter a year earlier, it had a net loss of $22.6 million, or 61 cents a share, on revenue of $304.2 million.
For fiscal 2006, BioScrip had a net loss of $38.3 million, or $1.03 a share, on revenue of $1.15 billion. For fiscal 2005, it had a net loss of $23.8 million, or 70 cents a share, on revenue of $1.07 billion.
The company said it set up a non-cash reserve of $25.7 million in the fourth quarter. Excluding the reserve, the quarterly loss would have been $2.3 million, or 6 cents a share.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation amortization and option expense were $1.25 million in the fourth quarter, up from a loss of $5.2 million a year earlier, BioScrip said.

I’ve been invested in MIMS, now BIOS, for a number of years. I am hoping this new management structure turns this around, as far as pps. Cost cuts and revenue growth need to continue.
