IBM, Cisco in partnership to offer emergency response network

Armonk-based IBM Corp. and San Jose-based Cisco Systems, a computer networking company, have formed a partnership to provide emergency crisis response capabilities to help businesses, governments and first responder organizations like police and fire departments handle crises.
IBM and Cisco said that in the past organizations have been forced to choose from different emergency-response products and services. But their package will include hardware, software and satellite-based services, offering “a one-stop emergency response communications network.�
