County Executive Andy Spano and environmental organization Grassroots will present Swiss Re with a “good corporate neighbor award tomorrow morning for the company’s efforts at promoting environmentally friendly policies. Those include using organic methods to keep the landscaping of the reinsurer’s Armonk headquarters verdant.

Spano is using the ceremony to promote “green landscaping methods as part of the county’s new global-warming initiative.

Swiss Re employees will be treated to a hybrid car show as part of the company’s “COyou2 program, which reimburses employees up to $3,300 for buying green technologies, such as hybrid vehicles and solar panels.
