Par begins shipping generic Zantac

Par Pharmaceutical Cos., which has major operations in Chestnut Ridge, announced today that it has begun shipping a generic version of Zantac syrup, an ulcer treatment developed by London-based GlaxoSmithKline PLC. ParÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s product will be manufactured by a GSK subsidiary, and GSK will receive a share of ParÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s profits, Woodcliff Lake, N.J.-based Par said. The branded version had annual sales of $124 million, according to industry data.
