PepsiCo has been recognized for its efforts in reducing energy usage by the government’s chief environmental watchdog, the Purchase-based snacks-and-beverage giant announced today.
The Environmental Protection Agency awarded PepsiCo its 2007 Energy Star partner-of-the-year award for the company’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gases at a ceremony yesterday in Washington, PepsiCo said.
The company’s energy-management practices and investments throughout its operations reduced energy usage, saved money and kept 195 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions from being emitted into the atmosphere, PepsiCo said.
