Piermont residents could have access to FiOS TV later this spring. The Piermont Board of Trustees approved an agreement last night that would allow Verizon Communications Inc. to offer it in the village.
Piermont is the 30th New York community to approve the video franchise, which allows Verizon to offer fiber-optic television service as an alternative to cable and satellite service.
The agreement is subject to review by the state Public Service Commission, which typically takes a month or two, and the service, assuming PSC approval, would be introduced shortly afterward, Verizon spokeswoman Heather Wilner said.
