Jumpjet LLC, a new private-jet service based in Santa Fe, NM, will start flying out of 12 U.S. airports, including the Westchester County Airport, on May 29. Using the fleet of Private Flight Group LLC, based in White Plains at the airport, it will fly to more than 5,000 private aviation facilities nationwide.
Jumpjet Founder and Chief Executive Officer Will Ashcroft, who previously owned helicopter companies, said he created Jumpjet to give travelers an affordable alternative to commercial airlines. He expects it to attract both business and leisure travelers.
“There is a growing frustration amongst … travelers that they are at the mercy of the airlines, and there’s really no way of changing that,â€? he said. “I think that we have catered our membership to everything from the sort of part-time traveler who just wants to enjoy most of their travel, (all) the way up to small, medium and large corporations. We’ve had requests for information on memberships from individuals, parents who are looking at ways to get families together, weddings  we have heard from such a wide array of people.â€?
Memberships are priced according to the number of flights per month and the number of guests allowed to fly free. Monthly subscriptions range from $1,500 for Silver members, who get up to two round-trip flights a month with three guests each, to $4,000 for Platinum members, who can take up to four round trips per month with five guests per flight. Corporate memberships range from $7,500 to $20,000. There is an initial sign-up fee of $500.
NetJets (www.netjets.com), the largest worldwide operator of private jets, is one of the most active fliers at the Westchester County Airport. The Woodbridge, N.J/-based company mainly serves corporations. In one plan, a prepaid lease for 25 hours of flight time starts at $119,900. Companies can also book individual flights.

Jumpjet is an excellent idea – and I wish them great success in establishing themselves as a worthy competitor in private air travel.
My own business is BRAVA One also based out of Westchester, it caters to both U.S. and Latin American clientele who wish to charter small to mid-size yachts in Florida or the Caribbean and Latin American coast for – tournament ocean fishing, cruises and dive excursions. What better way to get to your destination without the potential risks of being held up in a larger airport for 2 or more hours, a whole vacation day lost or worse, being stranded.
Bravo Jumpjet!

So far Jumpjet has been nothing but a scam. They charge your card, promise to refund money and then never do. It seemed too good to be true and as expected it was. I called a couple other people in the jet industry to see what they thought and they all said it would never work based on the low prices they were charging. Too bad it would have been a great service.

Thank you for your comment. I’m writing a story for The Journal News on what’s going on with Jumpjet. Please contact me at abert@lohud.com or 914-694-5085 if you would like to comment for the story.
I am another unsatified individual. I have also experienced promises of my money to be refunded as still I have not. This is long after the date promised by the founder. This is truly too good to be true.
