New York Power Authority fills technology development post

The New York Power Authority, which has its headquarters in White Plains, has named Richard Hackman to be chief technology development officer, a job that requires him to develop and implement innovations for the utility’s generating and transmission operations.
Before his promotion, Hackman was program manager in NYPA’s Energy Services and Technology business unit. He oversaw thermal efficiency projects.
Hackman, a resident of Milltown, N.J., serves on the Electric Power Research Institute’s Research Advisory Council, an independent, nonprofit center for energy and environmental research. He has worked at the NYPA since 1983.
The NYPA is a nonprofit electricity provider.
