Elmsford-based AFP completes buyout of Italian X-ray maker

April
24

AFP Imaging Corp., a Elmsford-based diagnostic-imaging supplier, has completed its purchase of Quantitative Radiology, an Italian maker of three-dimensional, digital X-ray imaging technology, known as Cone Beam CT scanning, used primarily by dentists.

AFP Chairman David Vozick said the deal was important for the company’s long-term growth.

The Cone Beam CT dental market is valued about $200 million during the next two years, according to industry estimates, the company said.

The purchase was funded from a combination of new stock sales and senior debt, AFP said.

Sales for AFP’s fourth quarter and fiscal year ending June 30 will include QR’s revenues and operating income beginning April 20, it said.
