State offers direct deposit of unemployment checks

Recipients of unemployment insurance now have the option of having payments deposited directly into their personal checking accounts, the state Department of Labor announced.

Claimants can only register for direct deposit on the Labor Department’s Web site when they file their new claim or certify for benefits.

For more information, visit the Web site (www.labor.state.ny.us) and click on the Direct Deposit logo.
