ConEdison Solutions acquires energy service, engineering company

ConEdison Solutions, a White Plains-based subsidiary of Consolidated Edison Inc., has acquired BGA, Inc., an energy service and engineering company based in Tampa.
The deal will expand ConEdison Solutions’ presence in the Southeast. The Tampa office will join ConEdison Solutions’ existing offices in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Virginia and Texas.
The value of the deal, announced yesterday, was not disclosed.
ConEdison Solutions is what’s known as an energy service company, or an ESCO, that were created during the deregulation movement to offer alternatives to traditional utility companies.
