IBM Corp. is expanding its pact with Lenovo, the Chinese computer maker that purchased Big Blue’s PC business in 2005. IBM Global Services employees will team up with Lenovo’s employees to provide technology solutions to clients in the health care, financial services, education, retail and government sectors.
When the companies agreed to the deal in December 2004, they said IBM Global Services would provide maintenance, warranty support and related services. IBM’s 30,000-strong corporate sales force also was assigned to sell PCs made by Lenovo. Lenovo is the top supplier of PCs to IBM’s clients.
