Local technology CEO sees hot local market

A Tarrytown technology company has bought the assets of a White Plains tech firm as its chief executive sees a resurgence for Westchester-area computer companies.
Chris Furey, CEO of Another 9 LLC, with headquarters in Eastview, said his company has bought the operating assets of OnSite Technology, which is the information technology division of Sipco Publishing.
Another 9 purchased Furey’s company, Savvy Networks, last fall.
Another 9 provides companies with data center hosting and regulatory compliance help.
Furey said companies that require nearly perfect uptime for their Web sites and networks hire Another 9. Clients typically have 99.99 percent uptime when they start with Another 9, which gets them to 99.99999 percent reliability.
Those additional percentage points reduce downtime from an average of 5,200 minutes a year to just 5 minutes a year, Furey said.
The firm’s 600 clients include hedge funds, health plans and publicly traded companies that need to show proof of regulatory compliance to the government.
Another 9 has 30 employees and will get three from OnSite. Furey expects to hire another 15 to 20 people in the next 12 months as demand for technology services increases almost to pre-9/11 levels, he said. The company is also looking for other strategic acquisitions.
