PepsiCo and an affiliated bottler announced today that the two companies have agreed to jointly acquire 80 percent of Sandora LLC, a Ukrainian juice company, for $542 million and assumed debt.
With 46 million consumers, Purchase-based PepsiCo and Minneapolis-based PepsiAmericas Inc., stand to benefit greatly from the growing Ukrainian beverage market, the companies said.
The deal is expected to close in the third quarter.
PepsiCo will hold a 40-percent stake in the company and oversee the brand development, the companies said.
The companies expect to acquire the remaining 20 percent of Sandora in November, they said.
