Clinical trials approved for cancer treatment

June
26

Advanced Viral Research Corp., a biopharmaceutical company based in Yonkers, announced that Canadian health authorities have approved clinical trials for cancer patients involving a medication that it has developed.

The approval from Health Canada, the federal health care system in that country, will allow the company to start clinical trials of the medication known as AVR118 in patients with confirmed malignancies and who also suffer from anorexia, an eating disorder.

â€Ĺ“Our objective in seeking regulatory approval in Canada is to expand our clinical trial network in sites where we can accrue patients quickly and efficiently,â€? said Stephen M. Elliston, president and chief executive officer of Advanced Viral Research.
