Barr gets drug approval

Barr Laboratories Inc. of Pomona has gotten final U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval to make and sell a generic version of Pharmacia and Upjohn Co.’s Dostinex, tablets. The drug treats disorders that suppress the function of the reproductive glands in men and women. The drug had sales of $67 million for the 12 months ending in May, according to figures cited by Barr, a subsidiary of Woodcliff, N.J.-based Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc.
