Gas prices drop

The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Westchester County dropped more than than 6 cents in a month, according to the latest survey by the county’s Department of Consumer Protection. The survey of 355 gas stations found the average price was $3.25 a gallon, compared with $3.31 a month earlier. Prices were 9 cents lower than a year ago. The station with the lowest price was an Xtra Mart at 3144 E. Main St. in Mohegan Lake, where regular unleaded was selling for $3.049. The survey was posted on the department’s Web site (www.westchestergov.com/consumer) on Friday.
