Emisphere names new finance chief

Emisphere Technologies Inc., the biopharmaceutical company in Eastview that has been shuffling its management team, has named Michael R. Garone to the post of chief financial officer.
Previously, Garone was CFO and interim chief executive at Astralis Ltd., a Fairfield, N.J.-based biotechnology company.
Garone will report to President and Chief Executive Officer Michael V. Novinski, who was hired by Emisphere in April.
In mid-afternoon Nasdaq trading, Emisphere shares were up 5 cents, or 1.3 percent, to $3.99 a share.
