Cablevision adding Jewish Channel

September
17
Cablevision Systems Corp., the dominant cable provider in the region, said that is making The Jewish Channel available as an option for its digital cable customers.

The Bethpage-based company said that it will offer the channel as a new subscription video on demand service for $4.95 per month to digital cable customers who desire it. The Jewish Channel’s programming includes films, documentaries, talk shows, comedy and political commentary shows with a Jewish theme.

“For less than the price of a single movie ticket every month, viewers can watch an entire film festival’s worth of programming that speaks to Jewish culture,” said Michael Tobman, a spokesman for The Jewish Channel. “Most people probably don’t know that there’s Jewish content produced at this level of quality, and we’re pleased that now millions of viewers can find it on Cablevision.â€?

Customers interested in subscribing to The Jewish Channel can access the channel via Channel 291 or from the optimum service upgrade portal on channel 900, according to Cablevision.

Cablevision’s digital service offers more than 240 channels, including 50 premium movie channels and 45 channels of commercial- free music. Cablevision serves more than 3 million households in the New York metropolitan area, including Westchester and Rockland counties.

I recently subscribed to The Jewish Channel and I love it! I called customer service at Cablevision to ask when the programs change and was told they are updated every month. I this correct? Thank you.
