EpiCept losses widen

EpiCept Corp., which develops drugs to treat cancer, reported results for the third quarter ended Sept. 30. The Tarrytown-based company said it lost $7.7 million, or 20 cents a share, in this year’s quarter, compared to a loss of $5.5 million, or 22 cents a share, a year ago. On Oct. 10, EpiCept said it would sell 4.26 million shares of stock at $1.88 a share and five-year warrants to purchase up to about 2.13 million shares at an exercise price of $1.88 a share. EpiCept received about $7.3 million in net proceeds from the offering.
