Emisphere reports profit on legal settlement

Emisphere Technologies Inc., the biopharmaceutical company that plans to move managers from its offices at The Landmark at Eastview to Cedar Knolls, N.J., said this morning it earned $2.96 million, or 9 cents a share, during the third quarter, compared with a loss of $8.16 million, or 30 cents a share, a year earlier. Emisphere, which does not plan to move its laboratory operations, said this year’s results included proceeds of $11.9 million from the settlement of a lawsuit Eli Lilly and Co. Revenues for the quarter were up to $ $571,000 from $60,000.
