Barr earnings down, revenues up

Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc., the Woodcliff Lake, N.J.-based company with research operations in Rockland County, earned $38.9 million, or 36 cents a share, during the third quarter, compared with $52.8 million, or 49 cents a share, during last yearÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s July-to-September period.

Revenues were up to $601 million from $332 million.

Barr said it now expects fourth-quarter earnings of 73 cents to 83 cents a share. For the year, the company expects to make $3.10 to $3.20 a share.
