EVCI loss narrows to $5.75 million in Q3

The third-quarter loss at EVCI Career Colleges Holding Corp., the Yonkers-based company that runs Interboro Institute, the Pennsylvania School of Business and Technical Career Institutes, narrowed to $5.75 million, or $1.12 a share, during the third quarter of this year.

During the third quarter of 2006, the company lost $7.91 million, or $1.91 a share.

Revenues were up 4.9 percent to $12.89 million due to increases at Technical Career Institutes in Manhattan and the Pennsylvania School of Business in Allentown.

Enrollment at TCI was up by 120 students while enrollment at the Pennsylvania school was up by 180 students. Enrollment at Interboro, which has its main campus in midtown Manhattan, was down by 125 students.

The company’s shares closed yesterday at $1.45 apiece, unchanged on the day.
