MasterCard marks milestone

MasterCard Inc., the Purchase-based credit card giant, said that it marked a milestone when it recently issued its 20 millionth PayPass device. PayPass is a system that allows consumers to tap their card on a special merchant terminal, eliminating the need for retail clerks to swipe a card through a card reader. PayPass is accepted at more than 80,000 merchants in 20 countries.
