EDO shareholders approve ITT deal

Shareholders of New York-based EDO Corp. today approved a plan to be acquired by White Plains-based ITT Corp. for $56 a share.

The deal is expected to close Thursday.

Based on a preliminary count, more than 77 percent of the EDO shares voted in favor of the acquisition.

EDO makes products for the aerospace, defense and intelligence industries and had 2006 revenues of $715 million.
