Forum scheduled in Yonkers

January
9

A forum is scheduled in Yonkers tonight for residents who are struggling with mortgage payments and want to avoid foreclosure.

The free program is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Runyon Heights Community House, 21 Runyon Ave. The Westchester County Planning Department will also speak about a program that makes funds available to remove lead-based paint from older homes and apartments.

The event, originally scheduled for Dec. 13, was postponed due to weather. It is the first in a series of forums set up by county’s Office of African American Affairs and the African American Advisory Board.

The next one will be at 10 a.m. Sat., Feb. 16, at St. Clemon’s Church, 126 S. 9th Ave., in Mount Vernon. Another program will be scheduled for March in New Rochelle.

Co-sponsors are the Yonkers Community Action Program, Westchester Residential Opportunities and the Faith Mission Church. For more information, call the Office of African American Affairs at 914-995-2934.
