Forum scheduled in Yonkers

A forum is scheduled in Yonkers tonight for residents who are struggling with mortgage payments and want to avoid foreclosure.

The free program is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Runyon Heights Community House, 21 Runyon Ave. The Westchester County Planning Department will also speak about a program that makes funds available to remove lead-based paint from older homes and apartments.

The event, originally scheduled for Dec. 13, was postponed due to weather. It is the first in a series of forums set up by countyÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Office of African American Affairs and the African American Advisory Board.

The next one will be at 10 a.m. Sat., Feb. 16, at St. ClemonÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Church, 126 S. 9th Ave., in Mount Vernon. Another program will be scheduled for March in New Rochelle.
