Consumer Reports helps launch Web site

January
29

The Web site Full Frontal Scrutiny launched yesterday as a joint venture between Yonkers-based Consumer Reports and the Center for Media and Democracy in Madison, Wis.
â€Ε“The site seeks to shine a light on front groups — organizations that state a particular agenda, while hiding or obscuring their identity, membership or sponsorship, or all three,â€? read a news release.
The Web address for the site is www.frontgroups.org. The site will include an investigation of front group activity on the online site Wikipedia, including a guide to help consumers get the most out of that site, according to Consumer Reports. The site will also include a history of front groups. Full Frontal Scrutiny will also publish selected content from Consumer Reports’ WebWatch site and from the center’s SourceWatch database.
