PepsiCo Inc. and the operators of a $2.3 billion entertainment and shopping complex at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, N.J., have a 10-year agreement for a a 287-foot-tall Ferris wheel with the iconic Pepsi logo.

The Pepsi Globe ferris wheel at Meadowlands Xanadu will be powered with energy obtained through the purchase of wind power credits and will be partly made out of recycled materials.

The Wall Street Journal reported the deal is worth $100 million.

The ride will last 25 minutes, Pepsi and the park operators said in a joint release. Groups of up to 20 people will be able to enter 26 glass-enclosed capsules for the ride, which will feature views of the Manhattan skyline and the Hudson River, the parties said today.

The complex is scheduled to open in November near Giants Stadium.

Pepsi agreed to place the image of the ferris wheel on 450 million soda cans commemorating the grand opening event. Each year after the grand opening, the company will continue to sell soda in cans promoting the ferris wheel.
