Nutrition 21 scientist receives award

Nutrition 21 Inc., the Purchase-based company that markets nutritional supplements, said its director of scientific affairs, Vijaya Juturu, received the Tinsley Harrison Award. The award is given each year to honor an author of the best manuscript published in The American Journal of the Medical Sciences, the company said. Juturu wrote about research indicating that Diachrome, when added to diabetic medications, has beneficial effects. She received her award at a ceremony in New Orleans.
