Company’s growth brings change in name

Econnergy Energy Co., an independent supplier of electricity and natural gas in seven states, has changed its name to Gateway Energy Services Corp., the company said.
“As we began to expand our business across North America, it became evident that we needed to develop a brand that reflects our broadened goals and strategic direction,” said Chief Executive Officer Steven J. Maslak.
The Montebello company’s decision to adopt a new name wasn’t a result of a change in ownership and doesn’t impact the privately held company’s legal structure, it said.
Gateway Energy Services will sell its energy products under the “Gateway Energy Services” and “Econnergy” brands.
