The International Imaging Industry Association has opened an office in Gargilesse, France, and hired a coordinator to lead outreach efforts in Europe, the trade group, known as I3A, said today.
Jean Barda, an imaging industry veteran, will lead the association’s efforts in Europe to promote growth of and establishes standards for photographic equipment such as lenses in cell phones and other electronic gear, said I3A, based in White Plains.
An expert in imaging and display processes, Barda has registered a dozen patents, some of which are still used in TV production, such as multilingual captioning, I3A said.
Barda also served on the group’s board and its predecessor organization, DIG, for six years, I3A said.
