Small businesses in 23 New York counties may be eligible for federal economic injury disaster loans if they suffered lossses from hail, high winds and heavy rain from May 20 through June 13, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Westchester, Rockland and Putnam are on the list of counties covered by the program. Loans are available to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives and most private, non-profit organizations of all sizes, according to SBA. Farmers and ranchers are not eligible.

SBA said that it determines loan amounts and terms based on an applicant’s financial condition. Disaster victims can contact the SBA by calling 1-800-659-2955 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
