Stony Point resident elected to union post

Harry Nespoli, president of the New York City Uniformed Sanitationmen’s Association, recently was elected chairman of the Municipal Labor Committee, an umbrella group that represents nearly 100 public employee unions in the city with more than 350,000 members.
Nespoli, a resident of Stony Point, became a sanitation worker in 1970 and was soon active in the union as a shop steward. He was elected a trustee in 1980 and vice president in 1993. In 2001, he became president of the union that represents 6,000 workers.
