USG plant to receive safety award

USG Corp. said that its building products plant in Stony Point will receive the VPP Star award for outstanding safety performance and processes. The award is presented by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety & Health Administration. The 500,000 square-foot sheetrock plant has been operating in Stony Point since 1955 and currently employs about 145 people.
