Gasoline prices in the Lower Hudson Valley and across the United States keep falling.

The average price for a gallon of unleaded regular in Westchester County is $2.27, according to a survey by the county’s Department of Consumer Protection. That’s 51 cents lower than on Nov. 6, the last time the department conducted a survey.

And one station is charging less than $2 a gallon. That’s the Citgo at 3190 Albany Post Road in Buchanan, where the price was $1.989.

The survey was posted on the department’’s Web site at www.westchestergov.com/consumer_gasprice.htm.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported yesterday that the average price nationally stands at 1.81, down 8 cents in a week and down $1.25 in a year.
