EpiCept Corp. in Tarrytown raises $1M from investors

EpiCept Corp., a Tarrytown biotech company, said it raised $1 million from institutional investors through the private placement of subordinated convertible notes and common stock. EpiCept said it expects to use the proceeds to repay part of a loan, to meet working capital needs and for general corporate purposes. EpiCept recently reported that trials of its Ceplene cancer treatment showed an improved survival rate in leukemia patients.
