IBM announces two bank contracts in Asia-Pacific region

IBM Corp. announced two contracts with banks in the Asia-Pacific area this week, further expanding its presence in the rapidly growing region.
The Armonk-based company said today that Hokkoku Bank in Japan has extended a 10-year outsourcing contract for an additional six years and eight months. The contract calls for IBM to manage the bank’s information technology system.
On Monday, IBM announced a 10-year contract to provide information technology outsourcing services to Kurmanchal Nagar Sahakari Bank Ltd. in India. IBM will manage the technology infrastructure, manage the disaster recovery site and provide the networking infrastructure for the bank.
