ITT shareholders approve 10 board members

May

Shareholders of ITT Corp. approved 10 board members and ratified Deloitte & Touche LLP as the company’s independent accounting firm during the annual meeting today at the company’s headquarters in White Plains.

Chief Executive Officer Steve Loranger told the shareholders that ITT managed to report record revenue and income in 2008, despite one of the worst recessions in decades. The manufacturer makes a variety of sophisticated products, including night vision goggles for the military, water treatment systems for municipalities, imaging systems for satellites and controls for commercial aircraft. Loranger said that the diversity of businesses helped the company in a tough economic environment.

“We have great confidence in our ability to continue our track record of success over the long-term,” said Loranger. “While our attention is squarely focused on the current economic challenges, we believe we have the right portfolio, the best employees, and an effective strategy for winning in this economy and over the long haul.”
