A $300 million retirement community planned for Briarcliff Manor has received state approval after going through a two-year license application process.
The Club at Briarcliff Manor said that it is pushing ahead with plans to start construction in 2011 after the project received the Certificate of Authority from the New York State Department of Health.
“We are delighted to have achieved this important milestone in the development of this exciting new community,” said Matthew K. Phillips, president and chief executive officer of Integrated Development Group, the developer of The Club at Briarcliff Manor. “This is a major step forward for our project which will redefine the concept of luxury retirement living in this region.”
The project, plannned for a 59-acre wooded site with views of the Hudson River, features 325 independent living residences and a 60-unit supportive living center where staff will provide assisted living, memory support and skilled nursing care.
Amenities will include full-service spa and salon; multiple dining venues; a fitness center; an aquatics center with heated indoor pool, steam room and whirlpool; outdoor tennis courts; a private library; a multi-media business center with wireless Internet; and extensive walking trails and pond. The current timetable calls for residents to move into the housing units by 2013.
Integrated Development Group is developing the project in a joint venture with National Electrical Benefit Fund, a Washington- based pension fund.
