ITT lands $11.4 million contract for night-vision technology

ITT Corp., a White Plains-based defense contractor, said that it has received an $11.4 million contract to provide specialzed tubes for existing night vision goggles to the U.S. Special Operations Command.

The image intensification tubes are designed to provide the clearest, sharpest night vision image for U.S. personnel conducting critical nightime missions, according to ITT. Night vision goggles with the tubes have the ability to detect available light with more than 10 times the power of previous versions.

“We are committed to supplying U.S. and allied warfighters with the world’s best night vision technology, and we are particularly honored to be the supplier of choice for our special operating forces,” said Mike Hayman, president of ITT’s night vision business.
