A new law will phase out the manufacture, sale and use of creosote in New York state.

Banks sells NYC building

Northeast Community Bancorp Inc., the White Plains-based banking company, has sold a branch office building at 1353-1355 First Ave. in New York and signed a 99-year agreement lease so that it can retain an office there.

Irvington-based SWMX’s executive resigns

SWMX Inc., an Irvington-based electronic advertising marketplace for radio and television, announced today Chief Operating Office Bill Figenshu will step down June 29. Figenshu resigned his post “to pursue an as-yet undisclosed opportunity in broadcast radio,� SWMX said, adding that Figenshu’s replacement hasn’t been announced.

Progenics reports lower losses

Progenics Pharmaceuticals Inc., an Eastview-based biotech research firm, reported lower losses for the fourth quarter and the year as it collected reimbursements from its research partner Wyeth.
