IBM Corp., the Armonk-based computer services giant, will manage information technology systems for the state of Georgia under a $873 million contract.

Under the eight-year agreement, IBM will consolidate computer systems spread across 11 state agencies into “an integrated and reliable operation,” the company said. The contract, which includes two additional one-year optional extensions, also calls for about 300 state employees to be offered jobs at IBM or subcontractors Dell or Xerox.

IBM Corp. of Armonk said that it will provide information technology outsourcing services to Fluor Corp. under a $130 million contract extension announced today.

Under the three-year agreement, IBM will provide help desk, data center, network management and other services to Fluor, a Fortune 500 engineering services company with revenue of $16.7 billion last year.

IBM Corp. of Armonk said that it has signed a contract to upgrade the technology infrastructure for Philippine Airlines, the country’s biggest carrier. The airline, which has flights to 31 foreign cities and 30 locations in its home country, will install IBM storage systems to improve its performance. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

ITT Corp., a White Plains-based manufacturer of water pumps, said that that it has landed a $4.7 million contract to install ultraviolet technology for treating nuclear plant wastewater in France. The contract was awarded by ElectricitÇ De France (EDF), which runs all of the country’s 58 nuclear power plants at 19 sites.

ITT Corp. of White Plains said that it has been awarded a contract to help build a wastewater treatment plant in Oman. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed. ITT is a major provider of pumps and systems for the movement and treatment of water and wastewater. The plant, which will be Oman’s largest, is designed to reuse the treated wastewater for irrigation or for sea discharge in winter months when it opens in 2011.

Blue Horse Digital in Croton said that it has signed an agreement with the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington to catalog, digitize and make thousands of the department’s videotapes accessible on the computer desktops of authorized users.

Blue Horse Digital said that the labor department joins a list of current and past clients that include Altria, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, The Hartford Insurance, Philip Morris International, the Naval Research Laboratory, Smucker’s and the U.S. Golf Association.

ITT Corp. of White Plains said that it has been awarded a $206 million military contract to make equipment used by U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan to thwart hostile attacks.

“We greatly value the importance of this program and remain committed to producing the highest quality products that can be trusted by the men and women serving our nation,” Chris Bernhardt, president of ITT’s Electronic Systems business, said in a written statement.

Under the contract, ITT will make an additional 2,866 CREW 2.1 Vehicle Receiver Jammers. This the third option exercised under a $1.042 billion contract to build and deliver up to an additional 15,000 CREW 2.1 devices and spares. The contract was awarded by the U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command. ITT is building the systems at its plant in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

IBM Corp., the computer services giant based in Armonk, has landed a contract that could be valued as much as $800 million from the biotech company Amgen Inc.

Under the five-year contract, IBM will provide computer services for Amgen, including assitance with electronic messaging systems, networks, helpdesk support and computer servers, according to an Amgen filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The contract includes three one-year renewal options for Amgen, which is based in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

In another announcement, IBM said that it agreed to a five-year contract with Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale, a major bank based in Hannover, Germany. The contract, which extends an agreement announced by the companies in 2004, calls for IBM to manage the technology infrastructure for more than 5,000 employees at the bank.

Days after announcing third-quarter results, IBM has announced that it signed a seven-year deal in the fourth quarter with a bank in the Netherlands.

IBM was hired by Lanschot Bankiers to provide a variety of services, including help desk, network, telecommunications, mainframe, data center and transformation services. Van Lanschot Bankiers is the oldest independent bank in the Netherlands with a focus on high net-worth individuals and entrepreneurs. Financial terms of the deal, signed this month, were not disclosed.

IBM Corp. of Armonk said that it has signed a technology services contract with Norwegian Cruise Line. IBM will manage the reservation system for the Miami-based cruise line under the five and a half-year contract. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

IBM Corp. said that its computer services contract with drug maker Bristol-Myers Squibb has been renewed for three years. Under the contract, IBM will provide systems monitoring, management, disaster recovery and other services for mainframe computers used by New York-based Bristol-Myers Squibb. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

IBM Corp. of Armonk said that it has signed a technology services contract with the United States Golf Association in Far Hills, N.J. Under the contract, IBM will provide computer security, email recovery and other services. Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.

ITT Corp. of White Plains will provide communications services for spacecraft under a NASA contract that could be valued as much as $1.26 billion.

Under the five-year contract, ITT will support a NASA program that provides most of the communications for a wide range of Earth-orbiting spacecrafts, including the International Space Station, the space shuttle, the Hubble Space Telescope and the Earth Observing System satellites.

In July, ITT said record revenue in all three of its divisions helped produce higher-than-expected profits in the second quarter.

IBM Corp. of Armonk said that it has signed a five-year contract to provide technology services to the electronics manufactuer Panasonic Corp. of North America. The contract covers mainframe, server, network and other services. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

IBM Corp. of Armonk announced a four-year contract to supply mainframe management services to NV Energy, the electric utility for most of Nevada. NV Energy serves some 2.4 million Nevada residents, as well as millions of tourists visiting Las Vegas each year.

In another contract, IBM will build an energy-efficient data center for Tucson Electric Power, an Arizona-based subsidiary of Unisource Energy Corp. The value of the contracts was not disclosed.

IBM Corp. said that it has signed contracts to build a call center system for three Japanese banks. The call system will begin operation at Chiba Bank Ltd, the Daishi Bank Ltd, and the Hokkoku Bank Ltd between November 2009 and March 2010, according to IBM. The value of the contracts was not disclosed.

ITT Corp. of White Plains said that it has been awarded $41 million in contracts to provide equipment for a solar products factory under construction in China.

Under the contracts, ITT will sell pumps, valves and other products to the LDK Solar polysilicon factory in Xinyu City, China. LDK Solar is a leading manufacturer of solar wafers that are a key raw material used to produce solar cells.

Construction on the new factory began in August 2007 and is expected to be completed next year. The plant, which will have a production capacity of 15,000 tons per year, will use the ITT equipment for its cooling tower, wastewater treatment and the heating and air conditioning systems.

ITT received the contracts through Fluor China, the contractor responsible for the engineering and procurement on the project.

“We pulled resources from all of our business units in Asia and North America to support Fluor and the client in their design, and in the end showed that we are the strongest partner,” Carter Chan, vice president of ITT China sales and service, said in a written statement.

ITT Corp., a White Plains-based defense contractor, said that it has received a $153 million order for night-visision military gear from the U.S. Army.

The order covers equipment known as AN/PVS-14 night vision monocular that allows soldiers to adjust the system in varying light conditions in both urban and rural areas. The night-vision equipment can be hand-held, mounted on a weapon or fitted to a camera.

The Army order is the latest under a contract awarded to ITT in September 2005. ITT said it has received orders for more than 300,000 of the monocular devices and 3,000 night-vision goggles.

“ITT is well positioned to serve the military’s needs because it specializes in producing high-tech electronic warfare systems and equipment for the modern battlefield,” read a research report from Morningstar.

In July, ITT said that record revenues in all three of its divisions helped propel the company to higher-than-expected profits in the second quarter. The company also raised its profit forecast for 2008.

A water pumping system developed by ITT Corp. of White Plains has been selected to provide irrigation for Al Ruwaya golf course being built in Dubai. The 18-hole course is part of The Tiger Woods Dubai, a luxury residential development scheduled to open in 2009. ITT already has installed irrigation systems at many of the top golf courses in the United States.

Pepsi Bottling Group of Somers will manufacture and distribute Orange Crush and its related brands at PBG operations nationally under a licensing deal the bottler announced yesterday with Crush’s owner, Dr Pepper Snapple Group in Plano, Texas.

Crush has been around since 1906, but it is not a large brand. It accounted for just 15 million cases out of 10 billion cases of soft drinks sold last year, said John Sicher, editor and publisher of Beverage Digest in Bedford Hills.

Distribution currently is spotty around the country, but that’s likely to change with yesterday’s announcement, he said. Pepsi Bottling Group has operations in all or part of 41 states and the District of Columbia. The licensing deal gives PBG a perpetual right to the brand in about 80 percent of its territories.

“They get a small but well-known flavored soda brand, which has good potential for growth,” Sicher said.

Crush is available in less than 40 percent of the U.S. market, but the deal will nearly double that penetration, Pepsi Bottling Group said. Distribution will start in 2009. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The company already makes and distributes Crush in Canada.

“Our success with the Crush brand in Canada makes us feel good about the outlook in the U.S.,” PBG spokesman Jeff Dahncke said.

Orange and grape flavors account for a 5 percent share of the U.S. carbonated soft drink market, the company said. PBG, the world’s largest distributor of PepsiCo Inc. soft drinks, also distributes Dr Pepper.
